The Eiffel Tower is currently owned by the City of Paris and is used as a landmark for visitors. The Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited sites in all of the world. It has attracted over a quarter of a billion visits in its existance. The Eiffel Tower at Night is one of the most beautiful attractions in the city and shines a golden color visible to most in Paris. Even today, it serves as a symbol of the beauty of Paris. ![]() The Leaning Tower of Pisa (Pisa, Italy) Is the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa. It is situated behind the cathedral and is the third oldest structure in Pisa's Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square) after the cathedral and the baptistry. Although intended to stand vertically, the tower began leaning to the southeast soon after the onset of construction in 1173 due to a poorly laid foundation and loose substrate that has allowed the foundation to shift direction. The tower presently leans to the southwest. One of the most famous London attractions and just over a hundred years old, the Tower Bridge with its twin drawbridges, or bascules, each weighing about 1,000 tons have been raised more then half a million times since it was built. It takes only 90 seconds for the bascules to be raised with electric motors which replaced the old steam engines. ![]() Stonehenge (England) Is a prehistoric, mysterious circle of upright stones in southern England. Construction on the great monument began 5,000 years ago; the famous stones that still stand today were put in place about 4,000 years ago. The great age, massive scale and mysterious purpose of Stonehenge draw over 800,000 visitors per year, and several thousand gather on the summer solstice to watch the sunrise at this ancient and mystical site. The stones are aligned almost perfectly with the sunrise on the summer solstice, and it is almost unquestioned that Stonehenge was built as a spectacular place of worship. One of the world's largest museums, the most visited art museum in the world and a historic monument. A central landmark of Paris, it is located on the Right Bank of the Seine in the 1st arrondissement (district). Nearly 35,000 objects from prehistory to the 19th century are exhibited over an area of 60,600 square metres (652,300 square feet). Palacio Real (Madrid, Spain) The official residence of the King of Spain in the city ofMadrid, but it is only used for state ceremonies. he palace is owned by the Spanish State and administered by the Patrimonio Nacional. The palace is partially open to public, except when it is being used for official business. Some of the beautiful places and spots found in Europe.
